OCEAN CITY – Robert Woodhall Smith, 89, of Ocean City and at one time of Federalsburg, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the new Phillip Glenn Smith and Marion Haycroft Smith. He is survived by his wife, Miriam Nichols Smith, whom he married on June 21, 1952, and by two daughters, Sharon R. Smith of Ocean Pines and Kathleen E. Smith of Ocean City.



He was adored grandfather of Erin Terrell, Shannon Tustin, Robert Lomax, Alexander Bean and Meghen Bean, and two great-granddaughters, Riley Terrell and Camryn Terrell. He leaves a brother, Donald B. Smith of Lincoln, Calif.

For his aid in World War II, he received a Bronze Star and Oak Leaf Cluster and a Purple Heart. After returning to civilian life, he worked as a marrow cutter until 1963, when he began working for Federal Paper and Chemical Company in Federalsburg. He retired in May 2000 and moved to Ocean City.



A obsequies serve will be held at the Burbage Funeral Home on Friday at 11 a.m. Friends may gather one hour whilom to the service.  BERLIN – Gertrude R. Howard "Toni" departed this everybody Friday, Dec. 10, 2010.



She will be sorely missed by her two daughters, Nancy Howard and Diane Turner, and son-in-law Ted, many nieces and nephews, her many bingo friends and other friends and acquaintances in Ocean City. She is preceded in obliteration by her preserve John, her mama and dad and six siblings. Her spark of life will be honored with a performance on Saturday, Jan. 29, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m, at her territory 11436 Gum Point Road in Berlin.



The strain invites you to pull over by for refreshments and remembrance. George J. Hess Jr. BERLIN – George J. Hess Jr., 83, of Carroll Vista, Taneytown, died Sunday forenoon at Carroll Hospice Dove House.



Born on Feb, 20, 1927 in Baltimore, he was the son of the time George J. and Elizabeth Gensler Hess Sr. He was the partner of Marie Elizabeth Knapp Hess for 61 years. He was the holder of Shell Service Stations.



Surviving in joining to his partner are daughters and son-in-laws, Jane and Thomas F, Wright of Manchester and Judith and Thomas P. Anton of Westminster; grandchildren Matthew and better half Katie Wright, Christopher Wright, and Chuck and JP Anton; great granddaughter Audrey Elizabeth Wright; and sister Dolores Gibson of Villanova, Md. In lieu of flowers, statue donations may be made in his distinction to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, Md. 21157.



Richard Charles Mason SNOW HILL – Richard Charles Mason, 76, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Greenbackville, Va., he was the son of the previous Richard Kelly Mason and Naomi Brown Mason.



He was preceded in end by his wife, Della Fannie Mason in 2009. He is survived by his sisters, Bonnie Lynn Brown and her spouse Kevin of Ocean City, and Carol Mariner and her groom Vincent of Painter, Va., and numerous nieces and nephews. Mason had been a equipment boss for Moore Business Forms in Snow Hill. A graveside accommodation will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bates Cemetery in Snow Hill.

Washington St., Snow Hill, Md. 21863. William L. Savage BERLIN – William Lee "Bill" Savage, Jr. died January 7, 2011 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.



Born in Berlin, he was the son of the former William Lee "Jug" and Thelma Carey Savage. He is survived by his brother, Roland Lee Savage and ball and chain Sandra of Berlin; a sister, Luanne Timmons and her bridegroom Joe of Whaleyville; a step-brother, Richard J. Truitt and his the missis Ellen of Berlin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his latest wife, Jane Harrison, her children and his favorite grandsons, C.J. and Brandon, and a long-time friend, Gib Lynch and his bride Joan.



He was employed for over 27 years with the Town of Ocean City, Public Works Division, as a Master Electrician. Friends may entitle from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the Burbage Funeral Home.



A sepulture serving will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Burbage Funeral Home, with a curse one hour prior.
