MUSICAL melodrama students from Coleg Gwent are preparing to be the source the curtain down on their ivory-tower year with a nightspot showcase. Students from the Cross Keys campus will show off their singing, dancing and acting talents in performances next week which will embrace songs from a mix of shows such as My Fair Lady, the Rocky Horror Show, Cabaret, and Shrek. Musical coliseum lecturer Cheryl Harper said students had chosen their preference dulcet numbers for the end-of-year performances, before they proceed off for further training when they achieve college.
She said many students were already auditioning for piece schools such as Mountview Academy of Performing Arts, The Arden School of Theatre in Manchester and Performers College in Essex. Final year schoolboy Hannah Brehony, 18, from Newport will be winsome to the devise next week as Sally Bowles from Cabaret and Magenta from the Rocky Horror envisage show. She said: "It’s all coming together surely well. The mould few weeks have been used up getting our shindig routines exceptionally polished.
We’re actually looking post to the show itself, but don’t want it all to end!" The amusement performances will break at 7pm from June 14-16. Tickets charge £5. To paperback the horn 01495 333400.
