SOUTH GLENS FALLS -- Anita Mary Canale Caruso, 87, of South Glens Falls passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on June 1, 1923, Anita was the daughter of the past due Ulisse Canale and Sabina (Siraco) Canale. Anita was a St. Mary's Academy's Valedictorian of the Class of 1940. On Aug. 31, 1952, she married Salvatore (Sam) James Caruso.



Anita fini 40 years as a Glens Falls Hospital medical records coder after returning to college. She was always zealous to master and enjoyed a challenge. Anita was an professional artist, loved music and had a extraordinary alto voice. With all these talents, Anita felt her most gratifying feat was being mommy to her two children.

Survivors subsume her daughter, Maria Caruso Toole and her husband, Jack; her son, Mark Caruso and his wife, Lee-Anne; her grandchildren, Danielle Cummings, Rachel Caruso, Mark Samuel (Sammy) Caruso and Alexa Maria Toole, her brothers, Ulisse (Sonny) Canale and his wife, Marjorie (Marty), Alfred (Jiggs) Canale, her sister, Gloria Canale Brilling and her husband, John (Jack), her sister-in-law, Philamena (Phil) Westfall.



Several cousins, loving nieces and nephews along with her very dear friend, Julie Baker also last Anita. A Funeral Mass will be noted at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at St. Michael The Archangel Church, Saratoga Avenue, South Glens Falls with Father Tony Child officiating. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Queensbury.



Family and friends are invited and may hail from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury. Family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to: Helen P. Canale Scholarship Fund, c/o Gloria Canale Brilling, 141 Jordan Boulevard, Delmar, N.Y.
