MIAMI, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Hilary, a effectual Category 4 hurricane, kept its rigidity from the Mexican seashore Saturday gloom as it chugged across the Pacific Ocean, U.S. forecasters said.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami said in its 8 p.m. PDT counselling that Hilary was still producing 135 mph winds but at about 425 miles south-southeast of the southern pourboire of Baja California was too far out to blue water to be a urgent peril to Mexico. The hail was inspirational west at 9 mph.
There were no coastal watches or warnings in force and no significant changes are expected over the next two days. But swells were seemly causing life-threatening surf and rend currents in southwestern Mexico, the tornado center said. Hurricane-force winds extended 35 miles from the center, tropical storm-force winds, up to 85 mph. Hilary's tendency was expected to torpid Sunday and Monday.
