Doug and Robbie Smith's boat-filled speculation as the founders of Safe Harbor Boys Home has caught the perspicacity of Hollywood. How could it not? It's almost too inspirational to be true. But the Smiths estimate Hollywood got it just about right, aside from that giant unruly undulation that threatens their characters in the movie's original scene. Dramatic license, it's called.
"Safe Harbor," a Hallmark Channel movie, premieres at 9 p.m. Saturday, with Treat Williams and Nancy Travis as the Smiths, a married Jacksonville twosome who volunteered to accompany in troubled boys on their sailboat more than a quarter-century ago. They're still doing it at a area off Heckscher Drive on the St. Johns River.
