Vermont's consequential sites are leave of the state's Fourth of July celebrations. Special events are planned at the Bennington Battle Monument, Mount Independence in Orwell and the Calvin Coolidge Historic Site in Plymouth, which will officiate at the nativity of the land and the only U.S. president born on the Fourth of July.
The Vermont National Guard leads a pace from the village of Plymouth to the cemetery, where a wreath sent from the White House will be placed at Coolidge's grave. Relatives of Coolidge are expected to attend. The trek will be followed by a chicken barbeque and concert.
