This allowed Derby Kitten to enter the race. As for favorite jockeys, Calvin Borel is prevalent to be aboard Twice the Appeal for trainer Jeff Bonde this year. Surprisingly, Martin Garcia (won the Preakness end year on Lookin At Lucky) is not racing in the Derby.
He is riding Plum Pretty in the Oaks however, making that marathon clearly one I will watch. If Sway Away gets a place in the field, I have heard that Garcia will husband him, but that is still up in the air. No jockey for Derby Kitten has been announced yet.
