Larry Borello, 65, of Washington, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh, following a want and daring campaign with pancreatic cancer. He was born December 16, 1943, in Houston, a son of the ex- Homer G. and Lucy A. Zemaitis Borello. Mr. Borello was a steelworker for 38 years and had been employed by Jessop Steel Co., later Allegheny Ludlum.



He was a colleague of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Washington. Mr. Borello served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1964 in the North Atlantic and in Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis and then later in his service occupation at Walter Reed Medical Center.






He enjoyed working outdoors, feeding chaotic animals and the comradeship of his three boxers, Augie, Roland and Tyson. He also loved spending spell with his grandchildren and caring for other forefathers members. On May 20, 1967, he married Joyce Kopko, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Aaron (Kari) Borello and Vincent (Jodi) Borello, both of Washington; a brother, James V. (Lynn) Borello of Vacaville, Calif.; a sister, Debbie (Patrick) Guyton of Eighty Four; two grandsons, Emilio Blaise and Antonio Vincent Borello; nieces and nephews Jeffrey and Matt Borello and Patrick Jr., Michael and Brian Borello and Jennifer Yeckel; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.



Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington.

She was born August 26, 1921, in Morgantown, W.Va., a daughter of Howard and Nola Helen Ludlam Auther.



A 1939 postgraduate of Point Marion High School, she was a unswerving associate of St. Ignatius of Antioch Roman Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society. She was former times president of Shannopin Civic Club and a fellow of the Senior Citizens, both in Bobtown, and a widow member of United Mine Workers of America. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Vincent and Karen Kavlick of Green Valley, Ariz., and David and Mary Kavlick of Pasadena, Md.; two daughters, Mary Jo Hood and partner James of Connellsville and Lucille Fralick of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandsons, Craig Fralick of Los Angeles, Calif., and James Hood II and Joel Hood and bride Mary, both of Connellsville; a granddaughter, Jill Hood Underhill, mate William and their sons, Will and Charlie, of Richmond, Texas; a sister, Patricia Fabiszewski and save Thomas of Allison Park; two brothers, Howard Auther and partner Virginia of Springfield, Va., and Alexander Auther of Bobtown; four sisters-in-law, Loretta Auther of Brook Park, Ohio, Jacinta Auther of Woodinville, Wash., and Anna Miller and Eleanor Kavlick, both of Bobtown; and many nieces and nephews.



Deceased are her husband, Walter R. Kavlick, who died July 24, 1983; two sons, Bernard Kavlick, in 1960 and Linus "Lanny" Kavlick, in 1997; three brothers, Stanley "Stush" Auther, William (Bill) Auther and Ralph Auther; and a sister, Mildred Pennington. Parish vigil ritual will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the cremation home. *** John Raymond Kelley World War II seasoned retired from V-Bat Plastics John Raymond Kelley, 82, of Washington, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 6, 2009, in his home.



He was born December 2, 1926, in Washington, a son of James Everett and Mabel Roupe Kelley. Mr. Kelley retired from V-Bat Plastics in 1986.



Prior to that, he had worked in several town companies, including Hazel Atlas 2, Washington Penn Plastics, Findlay Clay, Jeannette Glass and General Concrete. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the European Theater as an anti-tank gun crewman, 14th Infantry-71st Division, earning the Army Occupational Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 927, the Polish Club and Pulaski Club. He was a bounce member of American Legion Post 907, Taylorstown. Additionally, Mr. Kelley was a longtime member of Friendship Community Church. Mr. Kelley enjoyed reading Western novels and sitting on his porch with a emotional cup of coffee on a summer lifetime watching the birds, squirrels and chipmunks.



His biggest happiness was spending measure with one's nearest and dearest and friends. On June 29, 1947, he married Laura Jane Naylor, who died January 28, 2000. Surviving are three daughters, Bonnie (Kenneth) Yingling, Susan (Art) Adams and Cindy S. (Don) McCartney, all of Washington; three brothers, J. Everett, Thomas E. and David H. Kelley; nine grandchildren, Ken (Jean) Juengling, Kristal (John) McGrath, Jason (Kathy) Adams, Marcie (Robert) Matteson, Melissa (Brian) Matteson, Misty S. (Steve) Hewitt and Kayla, D.J., and Laura Jo McCartney; 17 great-grandchildren, Ben, Erik Juengling, John, Catie McGrath, Kayla Wilson, Jacob Adams, Robert Davies Jr., Christopher Davies, Marissa Metteson, Jazmine Drilak, Kayla, Lindsey, Scott, Bradley and Megan Matteson, Kyleigh McCartney and Kaylee Spencer; and a great-great-grandchild, Brooklyn Ingram.



Deceased are a daughter, Sharon Jane Kelley; two grandchildren, David B. Adams Jr. and Jayden Daniel Kain Cunningham; and three brothers, Samuel Charles, Walter Edward and George Kelley.

William (Bill) Ruth, 77, of Carmichaels, died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, in his refuge after a abridged illness.



He was born February 14, 1932, in Cumberland Township, a son of John Laidley Ruth and Goldie Minerva Martin Swift. Mr. Ruth resided in Cumberland Township all of his liveliness and retired in 1990 from Duquesne Light Warwick Mine in Greensboro. After retirement, he drove a junior high school bus for Haulit Inc., Laidlaw and, at the convenience of his death, First Student for Carmichaels Area School District. Mr. Ruth was a member and served as trustee, usher and bus driver at First United Methodist Church of Carmichaels.



He was a old member of United Mine Workers of America Duquesne Light Local 6310. He enjoyed gardening, selfish mechanism restoration and attending auctions. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.



On January 27, 1951, he married Dee Miller, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Debbie Czyzewski and manage Mario of Carmichaels; a granddaughter whom he raised, Stacey Brown and groom Curt of Carmichaels, and eight additional grandchildren, Dr. William Czyzewski, Dr. Nick Czyzewski, Kristi White, Tedi Lynne Pozzuto, Amy Smith, Ashlee Czyzewski, Lyndee Czyzewski and Sarah Czyzewski; eight great-grandchildren, Sydney and Abby Czyzewski, Amanda and Cody Brown, Tia Beer and A.J., Kameron and Alexa Smith; and several nieces and nephews.



Deceased are a daughter, Lou Ann Presock; a brother, Ralph Ruth; and four sisters, Lottie Gwynn, Margaret Jacobs, Dorothy P. Booze and Sara L. Ruth. Ullom Sr. of Washington; a sister, Erma Saunders of Santa Monica, Calif.; four grandchildren, Edward C. Ullom Jr., Daniel Ullom, Janet Devenney and Denise Cornell; a great-grandchild, Stacey Blair; and a great-great grandson, Kanaye Blair. Deceased are a son, Donald R. Ullom; a sister, Eloise Day; two brothers, the Rev. Claude J. Bainer and Wayne I. Bainer; a great-grandchild, Danielle Ullom; and her longtime companion, Karl Rhoades.

She was born December 23, 1918, in Taylorstown, a daughter of Mack and Ella Jane Jones Carson. Mrs. Westfall was a longtime member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church and a or alumna of Taylorstown High School.



She enjoyed crocheting and especially loved usual fishing with her sisters. On March 26, 1949, she married George Westfall, who died in March 1999. Surviving are two sisters, Helen Hathaway of Claysville and Mary Myrtle Sprowls of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sisters, Pearl Stollar and Blanche Minnies.

He was born February 5, 1947, in Rochester, a son of Irene Christian Wojtowicz of Beaver and the dilatory Joseph B. Wojtowicz Sr. Mr. Wojtowicz was employed by New Century Energy in McDonald and Burgettstown Borough. He was a U.S. Army trouper serving in the Vietnam War. Mr. Wojtowicz was an avid tracker and fisherman.



On September 6, 1969, he married Sandra Lawson, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Marci (Bill) Michalski of Burgettstown; a son, George Wojtowicz Jr. of Weirton, W.Va.; two granddaughters, Marisa and Shannon Michalski; two brothers, Joseph B. Wojtowicz of Michigan and Thomas Wojtowicz of Burgettstown; and his mother- and father-in-law, Theresa and Mark Lawson of Langeloth.
